Successful USAC participants have the opportunity to earn the following credits for the courses indicated: course Listing:
  • Leadership Symposium, 4 days LEAD 134 - Military History Staff Ride (2 credits)
  • Cadet Transition Course (CTC), 9 days LEAD 124 - Character Education and Community Service ** (2 credits)
  • Basic Cadet Training (BCT), 16 days LEAD 130 - Foundations for Success in Health, Wellness and Physical Fitness (2 credits)
  • Basic Leader Course (BLC), 21 days LEAD 136 - Basic Leadership Experiences (3 credits)
  • Troop Handlers' Academy (THA), 9 days LEAD 128 - American Defense Policies and Leadership (3 credits)
Leadership Trainees have the opportunity to register for LEAD 130 and LEAD 136 during their first Summer Camp experience, with the concurrence of their USAC Cadre OIC/NCOIC. Second year participants can register for LEAD 124 and LEAD 128. This equates to not more than five elective leadership credits per Summer.

Participants at the April 2010 Leadership Symposium have the opportunity to register for LEAD 134 consisting of 2 leadership elective credits.

All registrants will provide an end of program/course reflection/critique paper to the instructor of record, Dr. Ray Striler, of not less than three pages or more than seven pages in length. This paper will reflect on the individual’s training experiences, citing at least three principles learned and their personal assessment of how these experiences will impact their daily lives in pursuing individual professional and personal academic objectives. Each student is requested to provide their USAC Cadre/Mentor a courtesy copy of their paper(s). APA format and font size 10 is the acceptable standard for the paper, including a cover page. All papers are due not later than 9 August 2010.

Remember, all students must be 16 years of age on the day of their (online only) registration. All courses can be registered for after the experience as long as the student’s participation is verified by a USAC Staffer or with the submission of a completion certificate with their paper(s).
